I [Rob Wheeler], have pleasure in informing you that we have now re-appointed to the vacancy left by Kenton in March. Mr Simon Goss has taken over the position starting last Monday and he is now up to his ears in seed packing etc at Waite.

Simon recently graduated (middle of 2013) with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Adelaide. Simon grew up on a family farm at Brinkworth, in the mid-north of South Australia, on a mixed cropping and

sheep property. He has good experience in barley and durum agronomy

through his degree, farming background and also through several short jobs both within SARDI and with Peracto SA. His last year was spent working on

the family farm where he gained valuable experience in dealing with and realizing some of the issues which face both durum and barley growers.

Simon is located in Kenton’s former office and holds the same landline phone details but his mobile is 0408 464 795 and email simon.goss@sa.gov.au

Dear SA Durum Growers Association Inc Members,

Please find attached a high level summary of the information your members provided GrainGrowers for this year’s report. Individual members who contributed would have received an electronic link to our database where they could compare their results with others. I would hope that growers will be able to participate in this report again next year and that we can get more results from NSW to get a good comparison.

Please call me if you have any questions in relation to this or any other GrainGrowers matter. The national report will be released within a few weeks and will be available on our website or by contacting me.

Good luck with the season ahead and hopefully we have cause to pull on the rubber boots soon! Thanks again to those who assisted by contributing samples.

Regards,

Jacqueline Andrews
